I have this suggestion, why not write directly to those that is 'moderating' this soon to be piece of sh** informing them of your superior standards.

I've read some of his papers, but I'm really impressed with his humble interpretation of his own work. I'm no physicist, but I enjoy reading about it. He wrote this for people like me.

While there are some members who give negative feedback based on trivialities such as what other member has given this person negative feedback and what non-scientific matters they disagree with the person in question on, the vast vast majority of the members here (including the cranks) give feedback based on an honest assesment of the other party's contributions to this forum.
Consider this, you say that the people giving negative feedback are ruining the site, but do you realize that many of them are active on other physics forums, in which they don't engage in the same behavior? Physicsforum.com is one such site.
The reason they don't engage in that behavior there is because people who show up making pseduo-scientific claims get booted by the mods. Physorg is unique in that it allows anything to be represented as anything. It's not so much devoted to discussion of physics as it is devoted to discussion of physics news.
Quite a lot of that happens here. xtrmin8r is a great example. He posts a new thread about once a week or more about an article from the main site, or some other science reporting site. Many people comment on those and discuss them, too. But when people like Zarkov or Farsight show up in these threads claiming that the scientists in question don't know what they're talking about, or that their own pet theories explain things better than existing theories without offering any proof of this claim, they find themselves under attack by the skeptical members of this site.
In short, it's not personalities or even crank theories that get attacked, it's baseless claims. Unfortunately, there will be some "civilian casualties" when this happens. That's the sad fact. I saw in your own feedback where trout negged you for posting what -on first glance- appeared to be a drastic misunderstanding of physics, and asked people to explain it to you. But notice also that the attack did not continue once you clarified yourself. When I read that link, I immediately thought "virtual particles" although that was because I had a strong feeling that you were not posting crank science. If I had viewed it with the proper skepticism and objectivity, I would have come to the same conclusion as those who attacked you over it. It wasn't that you pissed anyone off, it was that you seemed to be accepting baseless and erroneous claims about physics. Once you showed that you were actually referring to real physics, the attack ended.

They can use negative feedback to make any derogatory comment that comes to their minds. (Comments and statements that made in a pub might result in the necessity for dental care.)

I am actually glad that this forum is not actively moderated. This gives more freedom to discuss all sorts of ideas. Just be prepared to face the consequences of what you post, because there are multiple factors at play here
1) There is a lot of scope for miscommunication. People often have problems communicating face to face and this is only an Internet forum.
2) There are all kinds of people here - Highly educated and mature, Highly educated but immature, Not so highly educated but really smart, Not so educated and totally dumb and lastly the crazies
So there is no telling how your post will be received.
3) There are different kinds of motivations for people to be here. Some are here to read interesting posts from the smart people out here. Some are actually physicists exchanging ideas. Some are here to see what people's reactions are to their crank theories. Some are here simply to get rid of their boredom or for a sense of community that they lack in their real lives. Some get a power trip by yelling at other people. Some are out to set the world straight and this is a place for them to vent.

yor on, all I can say is, it's not worth it. It's a wide open forum. This is the Wild West here. Everyone is allowed to carry a gun, whether they ever draw it or not. Some like shooting it because they can, some prefer drawing it on the open forum, where everyone including guests (the great majority here) can read, some prefer the gentleman's back room chamber filled with the smell of old farts and cigars.
Like BDW said, it's used legitimately by most. The ability to continuously rate the same person is what skews the look. If there was a limit to how many times one could rate a person - say 4 times - you could present a composite view, eg you really are disgusted by a poster's incorrect quantum spewings, but you see some redeeming factors in another area. But the baby sometimes gets thrown out with the bath water here, and you have to realize that some posters just enjoy throwing cyberdarts because they know you can't be hurt by them unless you DECIDE to, which then makes the laughing dart-thrower an important and influential person in YOUR life, an absolutely ridiculous and undercutting self-made decision.
The only thing I object to is the graphic use of the disadvantaged to drive home povs in needless puerile fashion. Unlike attacked posters here who also have a gun if they feel offended, the depicted unfortunates don't. We tried to get rid of those images; the mods rejected this, probably because there are more members here who support keeping the images. Case over. I just hope none of those unfortunates ever discover their 'celebrity' here.

The ethical thing to do would be to have a trusted (by them) third party reccomend they seek psychiatric help. Cause if yer gettin all worked up over what someone says to you online, you've got deeper problems than some hurt feelings...
