The focus here seems to be,in the exact size of these particles, where I believe they are indicating that colloidal silvers are not minute enough to be as effective as the more minute healers, they want injectible nano-silver and so forth. (it appears to me)

The colloidal silver can be prepared most easily just be chemical methods, i.e. by careful precipitation (reduction) of the silver from the polymer solution of silver salts.

According to numerous sites that claim to have measured the particle size of electronic creation of Ionic-Colloidal Silver, they claim particle sizes created are of 0.005 to 0.015 microns (5-15 nm) in diameter as measured by Scanning Electron Microscope. Admittedly, this range includes particles larger than the sub-10nm size claimed to be most effective by the article. When you look at the cost of home-brewing your own CS at less than $0.10 / month and creating solutions that do, in fact, have possibly 1/2 the particles of the recommended diameters "to enter cells and disrupt them", this could be a revolutionary discovery and the start of a new home health maintenance lifestyle.
It also appears that the experts are saying that binding sites on viruses have a particular size that a specific particle size is required to bind to. If that varies from virus to virus, then using a solution of mixed size particles could be used as a preventative and broader range anti-viral rather than trying to create homogeneous solution that would be specific to an individual virus. Plus, it does seem to be problematic and probably very expensive to create this homogeneous singular particle size solution. Sure, it's fun, exciting, satisfying, and mentally stimulating to do so but if all that does is take lots of time, money, and creates a longer delay in actually releasing a broad spectrum anti-viral to people suffering from potentially lethal viral infections, is it the best use of resources to completely over engineer this simple silver solution rather than using what is simple, quick, and inexpensive to create?
If they really want homogeneous sized particle solutions, aren't there nanometer filters that could be used to sieve the proper sized particles from solutions created for pennies per liter? A quick Internet search shows filtration down to 20 nm in size so there's probably smaller filtration systems available.

I've had a cough left-over from a cold that lasted three weeks, and I just finished a course of antibiotics that didn't quite cure the cough. I just got some colloidal silver and used it.

I tried the colloidal silver, inhaling the spray like it was an inhaler, most of the spray just hit the back of my throat but some did seem to make it into my lungs.
I stopped coughing almost immediately. I was astounded, I wasn't expecting anything dramatic, I've had this &%$@ing cough for over three weeks, and suddenly it was *gone*!
I coughed a couple times later that night, mainly clearing my throat, and a couple more times today, but I'm really amazed that it worked as well as it did and as quickly as it did.
I'm now trying it (off-label) for a chronic blepharitis problem I've had for nearly two years, having gone to a couple different doctors a few different times, doing the nightly treatment for months (each course lasts 6 weeks), and it always comes back. I'll let you know how it works.

On the other hand, I tested the "antimicrobial" properties of this stuff yesterday, using it instead of underarm deodorant, just to see what would happen. Despite my doing some housework and having a cheeseburger with grilled onions for lunch, as of this morning, I still had no B.O. So that much seems to work, at least.
I'm still a believer in this stuff, I'm just not as impressed as I was initially.

Hi wcelliott, it was interesting reading about you experiences. Still i think you have to take care when applying this substance, it can lead to poisoning if taken in to large quantities.

The danger of colloids is taken far out of proportion, apart from skin color changes when taking an over dosage there are no negative health effects. Of course anything taken in large dosage may eventually be bad for you.
The wine industry uses it to clean bottles, vegetables stay fresh longer when they spay colloids on them. It's not reasonable to assume they would put poison in our food.
Maybe blue is our natural color?

I've seen him before. It has to be fabricated propaganda. It makes no sense if there are only 2 official cases for NR 3 to be a public figure who explains enough about the recipe to scare people? Sure! Anyway, we can see he is quite healthy still.
What I understand from it is that you need huge sized colloids and lots of them to get the large crystals in sun exposed areas of the skin.

Update on my experiences with Colloidal Silver:
The sinus infection seems to be all-but cleared up.
I still have a bit of blepharitis, but it's at the same (minor) level that it was when I was using the antibiotic ointment that was prescribed for the condition, which itself required *six weeks* of treatment for a single course, and required two refills. This was essentially a petroleum jelly-based goo that I had to apply to my eyelids every night before bed, which blurred my vision (from the oily goo covering my corneas) and was hard to wash off in the morning. The Colloidal Silver seems to work as well, and just takes a couple spritzes in each eye, no problems associated with oily goo in my eyes.
I can't remember if I mentioned it, but I did try it as underarm deodorant, and it worked all day.
I'm thinking this is a good find, and I recommend it to my friends.
While I'm making recommendations, I strongly suggest that everyone take Vitamin D supplements, at least 1000IU/day, as it's been found by mainstream medical researchers to prevent many kinds of cancer. It isn't even recognized as such by the Health Food Store types yet, most of the hippies working there don't even know where it is on their shelves, but it's cheap and has no side effects, other than preventing various common types of cancer. IMO, finding something that *prevents* cancer is even better than finding something that *cures* cancer.

Foley catheters are routinely associated with high rates (~40%) of urinary tract infections, often by antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria that can lead to serious complications.
I've had excellent results in treating various infections with colloidal silver.
It would be a simple matter to impregnate the silicone rubber of the Foley catheters with colloidal silver solution prior to use.
I would expect that this simple, cheap, and safe prophylactic measure would be effective at preventing most infections.
Is anyone out there in a position to try this?

It has already been done and is commercially available.
A peer reviewed study performed by Penn State's, Rustom Roy, et al, has found that the high voltage AC process utilized by American Biotech Labs produces elemental silver particles, predominantly in the 5-7 nm size range, no matter the ppm strength of the colloidal preparation (available from 10 ppm to 32 ppm).
Interestingly enough, they just released a gel wound dressing using this technology, in addition to their colloidal products.
The paper mentioned above is titled:
Ultradilute Ag-aquasols with extraordinary bactericidal properties: role of the system Ag–O–H2O
