I don't believe that on that date physics will not just stop and screw around everyone, or the earth will just decide to stop working.
The sun will go nova in a few billion years, for longer than the 2020 prediction.
If we're royally screwed its because of our own doing. Going to wars or maybe screwing with the moon and blowing it up maybe the reason we'd end or if one race or religion decides to wipe out the other. There's not going to be a supernatural end of humanity, we're going to do that ourselves.
Just be good in the life you have and if it does happen, at least you have no regrets. Until then, just continue on enjoying life.

In the late 90's, I heard some scientist guy say that the coming environmental catastrophe is like an oil-tanker. i understand what you are saying ok....i see people doing bad acts...i see myself doing bad acts....but sometimes, i just didnt know.....sometimes i am weak...
but i have found that speaking up does great wonders....ive been trying to treat people like i would like to be treated....and i tell them what i think in a respectful way....i try ok...im getting better...because i remember the times someone disrespected me out of anger...it doesnt feel good...

all i know is i feel the need to speak up against the doomsday fear propoganda....yesterday, for example, im standing in line at the store and i see a magazine..picture of Jesus and it says DOOMSDAY....and i notice all the talk about the end....

How do you figure that. We need a ship first, and we don't have one yet. Nothing planned that can do even a small fraction of lightspeed. Might launch something by 2060, but nothing will be comming back for quite some time.

There are physics that are coming into focus for the masses now, that will make it easier for folks to see how we will achieve that.
Our nation already has small group of superconductor ships they've been testing and improving for years. One of the them has proven much to their satisfaction. We are having a little difficulty getting the magnetic power up to a more practical level for interstellar travel (we're 5/6 the way there), but the ship is already the fastest thing on the planet. When the magnetic field generator reaches the critical level, the whole ship will be within the proper field strength and will be immune to outside gravity and almost all problematic outside forces that a star ship must avoid. As the speed of the ship increases, it will scale by integers the speed of light within its field, up to a point where the ships can make a star trip well under a year.

Now, pay close attention to the chart lines closest to where we are now. See how dramatized things have been since the past 10,000 years (and also to a point, how much more accurate and exxagerated the lines become closer to currency)? See also how QUICKLY (as in perhaps 100 years) the global average temperature could drop by, say, 4-6 degrees? Yeah. Notice the apex that we're on, where it actually gets this warm normally? I think we can all agree, in educated reference, that the warming period would be occurring whether or not there was pollution involved (even though it is making things a bit shaky and uncomfortable for most species). Now can we all agree that maybe the prophecies of dates ranging from 2012, to 2060, to 2300-2400 (Dendera calendar) are an accurate description of the rising and falling cycles? Or shall I say the rise and fall of the Phoenix, Quetzacoatl, or the Ouroboros? Beyond hypersonic sound (HSS), genetic modification (GMOs), hypervelocity vehicles (HSV), ion propulsion engines, RFID, microwave towers, weather modification, and even the "oil crisis", I think that there are much more important things to be pondering. There's always this upcoming temperature shift, but then what about those drifting North and South Poles? Interesting how magnetic North is right about in Siberia these days... a little faster than presumed by most scientists of the 80's, in military positions, but then I guess that such underestimated calculations wouldn't be news. Know what happens when a magnetic field shifts in retro-orientation to the physical body with which it is related (the magnetic flux swaps before the physical matter swaps)?
