http://www.physorg.com/news97825267.html Now all we need to do is engineer a chimpanzee or bonobo to express type II neuropsin and see what happens!
It seems to be somewhat of a horrifying idea. While I expect that such a minor mutation will have a minimal effect, the sought-for result (greater intelligence in chimps) seems inhumane. It would be the intentional creation of an intelligent creature in order to be a laboratory experiment.

One kind cannot change into another. That's only in fairy tales. Finding a single bone in the dirt and imagining a creature around it is silly.
I want to become a true leader in the world and make a difference, but it will be difficult with all of the preconcieved ideas of "evolution". It's simple. We were created and our duty is to go out and populate the universe. Duh, that's why there is no-one else out there.

S.R. - I sincerely hope that was written with deep, deep sarcasm... if not, I will personally campaign to prevent your dream reaching fruition.

The best way to realise this dream is to work hard, save your funds, and invest in pro-space development technologies and companies. If we're going to get humanity to the stars, it will require investment and education. Being non-wasteful will also help out.

Fools! Haven't they seen the documentary "The Planet of the Apes"? This will be our undoing!

One obvious question to my way of thinking. Why are we so sure that someone did not visit our planet millenia ago and plant the same thing that we are talking about imparting to primates.

There is no physical law preventing such an event, but we have no evidence to show it. However, given any evidence for such an event, people will be able to create theories and investigations around such an idea.
Basically, we aren't "sure it didn't happen", but we don't really see any reason to assume it did.
