Ya know the way theres a centripetal acceleration on an object moving in circular motion and the force is external?? Well what provides the force acting on a satellite orbiting the Earth?? It not like theres someone up there swinging it!!! wink.gif

<<< cash. lot's and lot's of cash

hazeybazey
biggrin.gif ha true!! but whats the cause of the centripetal force??
PJParent001
kinetic energy

inertia

slowly dissipating
PJParent001
centripetal acceleration?

No, I didn't know that.

PJParent001
centripetal acceleration?

If there is such a thing it might be due to the fact one side of the object is closer to the more significant source of gravity.

hazeybazey
ye it has centripetal acceleration..which therefore has a force which is also centripetal because its direction points toward the centre...ur right bout the gravity! id say thats its source of force alright!
PJParent001
Of course, I was referring to the gravity of the Earth.

Gravity is the answer to your question.
