We know Gadgets like Television sets, Air Conditioners, Microwave Ovens, Fans etc which come with a Remote control for each device.
Can this functionality be achieved in a cell phone device ?
1. Adding Buttons for Power On/Off TV, AC, Microwave Ovens, Fans, Car Door Lock On/Off along with infrared, wireless sensors in the cell phone device for individual gadgets/products functionality.
For example :
TV Power On/Off Button
AC Power On/Off Button
Car Door Lock On/Off Button
Fan On/Off
Microwave Oven Power On/Off Button
and so on ....
2. Is this functionality complex or feasible to built within the cell phone device ?. Will this new functionality integrated in the cell phone device add any value to the consumer ?.
The cost of the cell phone will increase with this new functionality if achieved.
The Limitations for this could be, not all remote control functions within the cell phone device product can be integrated.
i.e. For example an Air Conditioner remote control has so many functions viz temperature cooling,timer set function etc.
Now within the cell phone device, it will be difficult to add so many buttons each for the devices functions since the number of push buttons on the cell phone device will increase.
For example :
Instead of having a remote control for each of the devices, we can have it in a single device viz cell phone but with limited remote control functions for other devices.
If Smart Phone / Tablet / Cell Phone manufacturers viz Apple, Google, Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, Blackberry, Nokia etc collaborate with a joint partnership with Air Conditioners Manufacturers viz Samsung, LG, Blue Star etc, with TV Manufacturers viz Sony, AOC, Videocon etc, with Microwave Oven Manufacturers viz LG, Videocon, Samsung etc, with Car Manufacturers viz Ford, Mercedes, Hyundai, Maruti etc, can this functionality be achieved for development ?

I am assuming mobile phones can display web pages. My phone uses wires but I suspect things have changed a little over the last 30 years.
Just about anything can create a web page - eg a fridge. You'd just want myhouse.net/fridge.html to see what's in my fridge (yourhouse.net/fridge.html to see what's in your fridge). The little buttons you get on web pages could be used to turn the fridge up/down/on/off. No new technology required at the phone end.
Making fridges 'net savvy' is the next step in the digital revolution.

Yeah, one of my freezers is insanely loaded. I chisel down the bottom occasionally, finding all sorts of random stuff.

This already exists; many Java Babies (including myself) have written freely downloadable apps for your Android device. I assume iPhone's have similar applications. 
There are tons of such mobile apps almost for all mobile platfroms, and new and new apps are being developed.

this is pretty easy and inexpensive with an Arduino. in fact any device maybe controlled with an Arduino and seraproxy with a little work.

Well, at least I know of an old (5 years plus) SonyEricsson phone that can act as a wireless mouse. You move the Joy stick and the cursor moves accordingly by merely pointing the phone to the general direction of the lap top.
I guess it could also trigger IEDs where there is no phone network coverage.
