He is
Richard Penner, actually, not that it really matters.
As to Lasand's question:

He has never revealed his real name for obvious reasons. You are advertising your forum here. Did you obtain his real name through your forum?
Not cool, not cool at all!

I have extended an invitation. I'm not advertising anything except an ad-free, spam-free place to discuss science. I derive no income from the Joint, and probably never will. So what?
I discovered his name in conversations with him if you think it's your business. It isn't as though I gave anyone his address, anyway.
My name is Donovan Ready. By sharing it in this cesspool, do you think I have anything to fear?

Choosing to reveal your own identity is your prerogative. If it is not a legal issue then an administrator of a social network should not make their members identities public without their consent. It's not cool!

I'm pretty damned sure I knew it before I started my site, and I'm also pretty sure some other folks who were members here before it was let to rot about 4 years ago
also know his name.
I get the 'not cool' part, but I disagree as to the severity. Lighten up! How many Donovan Ready entries come in an online search? Try your name, or the former moderator... Not much use, is it?

It was easy. I was able to find both of your addresses and five relatives. Your real first name is not Donovan. Once again, not cool!
Now that you have posted your real name, you should remove your D.O.B. and location from your profile.
