That Bitybitybity word is quite a mouthful am afraid I may Bobbit my tongue trying to say it.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what people call you, it is what you answer to that matters much.
NB. There are many smart scientist in this forum but unfortunately some behave like Sheldon of the BBT comedy fame. What's so hard in saying; "Sorry Boit, you're way out of your league speculating on such and such post. I'll recommend you get a good book on that subject and you can try this site to get a sound layman's grasp of the matter. Should you really want to get deep enroll in a reputable college like MIT, e.t.c e.t.c."
What do we hear instead? Crackpot, crank, sh*t, quasi-scientist
To be fair I can understand why others now have a low threshold for sticking to niceties .
There are several large threads ticking along. I don't see everyone coming in trying to shut them down. If you find me annoying leave me alone. OK there is depth here, but a lot of stupidity even if I just stayed on Sciforums.
There are no formulas for the stuff we are discussing on the Mercury thread. In fact no one has really discussed any biology topic at all other than the one on homosexuality.
Who knows someone overseas might like what I am saying and invite me to come and study with them!

Back when I first started posting here, I'd respond to the woo-woos by citing papers, providing fact, arguing science.
After a while, I learned better. You can't argue with a woo-woo. They are not responsive to being educated. If they were, they would be educated. They have the firm belief that they are right and the wackier the idea, the more they like it. To a crank, facts are like dark matter... they don't interact with them.

When you pick up a stone to look for a worm, it is not a fact that there is a worm underneath but there just might be. So all my posts are just an endeavour to find the worm.
I don't go around posting that I know the facts but my endeavours to find the facts.

To work with your analogy, I would make one adjustment: instead of picking up rocks to look for worms, you are attempting to find an elephant under a rock.

Very general pov. A lot of alcohol is bad for you. A little alcohol is good for you. Sometimes. With some people. Except if you are alcohol-intolerant, in which case it is just bad for 'you', and not 'bad for you'. Correct answers are tough. Correct theories are even tougher. But expecting two or more bad facts to decay into good results is no kind of science at all.
