I came across this on youtube, it's a shoe scanner used in airports that you step into so you no longer have to take your shoes off and put them through the machines. Its called the MagShoe by a company called IDO Security. Fox News shows it being tested at airports in Tel-Aviv and at LAX in the youtube clip. Supposedly metal detectors won't detect anything below the ankles so this is also being used at other high security locations. Search for it on google or youtube and check it out.
