I’m a Portuguese environmental engineer currently working with Air Quality Models.

I have two questions concerning the use of EPA’s Recommended Models. I would appreciate if you could give some details / information on the following issues:

1. Are there any specific guidelines on designing receptor networks when using Aermod?

2. I would like to simulate local-scale pollutant dispersion around a concrete plant located in the Portuguese coastline, in a mountainous terrain, where the assumption of steady-state meteorological conditions is not valid. According to the Section 7.2.8 of the EPA's proposed Guideline on Air Quality Models, the CALPUFF model may be used in this scenario. Are there any limitations is using CALPUFF is this situation or specific guidelines, for example when choosing the source-receptor distances?

Thanks for your help.
