So?
What started it all?

You me and the universe?

Was there one mystical force?
Or two.

Maybe there was 'nothing'

Any takers:)

In the begining was a cause, it created effect. (or vice versa) Maybe

QM interpretation:
In the beginning there was an effect.
Later, there was the cause.

Probably.

I believe that the pre-bang singularity had no motion or time associated with it so if there is any possibility of a spontaneous explosion (which Quantum probability give us) no matter how small, with no time it will happen immediately!
Just a weird thought.
Peace,
Ron
"THEY"
"In the beginning, there was light." What is light? Energy. Now I am going to go all philosophical on you for just a sec... wink.gif The human soul is said by some to be energy, so my answer is two things. It is ONE mystical force, (energy) but yet MANY mystical forces (us). Energy did it, but we are all part of it.

very good book to read is http://www.amazon.com/Comprehensible-Cosmo...s/dp/1591024242 (note how do i change the address into one of those click here things... anywho)

yeah so this book describes how it is possible for the universe to come about by the symmetry breaking of the void (the ground state) and also shows where the laws of physics come from. very neat.

so i guess one answer to

could be because the void is not as stable as the universe, something is more likely than nothing

and yet after reading this book i still asked "ok, but where did the possibility of the universe existing come from"

Yep. That was truly philosophical:)
but you and Ron seems to see it on somewhat alike terms?
" Quantum probability give us) no matter how small, with no time it will happen immediately"
And i don't find it weird even though i'm not exactly sure how the reasoning goes here?

Hmm and meBigGuy & BigDumbWeirdo predicts it as cause and effect??
Or the opposite:) Tell me when the fight starts:)

They:) I find your answer most alike how i'm wondering.
And i guess it goes far back in history.
The world as an 'idea' similar to the notion of names containing power on its own.
Maybe the 'idea' was the 'groundstate' and we the 'symetrybreaking'::))
And in that case KJW you are most surely a philosopher:)
