Feel free to shout out if your religion wasn't mentioned.

Is it a requirement, like jury duty?

Otherwise, the hell with them.

laugh.gif I just re-read it. Pastafarian is I!

You know what? I just looked it up, and religion is not a part of the Census. Oops!

They do ask about other things though, and it is required. Here is the form as it stands:

In the last census my family was selected for the "Long Form" and some sort of ongoing quarterly survey crap (designed to keep the census folks employed). They don't have it anymore.

The survey was incredibly invasive (breaking down our monthly expenses and *** like that) and took more than an hour to complete. Scheduling the visits was an incredible pain in the ***. After the 2nd one ... we called and called and called everyone we could so that we would be allowed to "opt out" and nobody we talked to up to the National level would allow us to do so.

Finally, we threatened to get a restraining order against the census person should she step back on our property. They "opted" us out at that point.

Yikes. The scary thing is that they probably don't need to ask for that information anymore. All they have to do is ask the banks for everyone's transaction history. Parts of the government have been trying to get funding for a "super database" for years. I'm fine with a database like that in benevolent hands, but there's no guarantee of data security or benevolent government. So far, the credit bureaus already have too much information and too little security.

I stay off the financial grid. I haven't used credit in any form for over a decade. I have a bank account to cash checks. That's it. I suppose it's a good job I have others I can depend on that are "on the grid" but it's a shame that it all works as it does.
